Role
Designer | Domestic Abuse
This project aimed to create awareness about women's issues, such as emotional abuse, hyper-femininity, motherhood, women in the military, stalking, reproductive health, and the portrayal of women in advertising. The situations addressed in this installation are often swept under the rug and dismissed as exaggeration, or worse, "the norm."
Seven women, seven different struggles women face on a daily basis. From facing constant scrutiny over their personal decisions to being attacked and harassed, women are hung out to dry. These issues are prevalent everywhere, from the doctor's office to the walk home from work. Hung on a clothesline the length of a busy college hallway, seven canvas prints with unique collages depict issues along with hanging up items related to each topic.
